The iPad 2 iPad 2 loaded with iOS 4.3 will be available in the U.S. on March 11.
Here are detailed specs for the iPad 2, according to Apple:
The new device is 33 percent thinner than the original iPad.
It runs on a new dual-core A5 processor.
It includes a front-facing camera for FaceTime calls to other iPads, iPhones, iPod touch devices and Macs. It also includes a rear-facing camera capable of capturing 720p high-definition video.
The new iPad 2 comes in two colors: black or white. Apple is selling 3G models for two networks: AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
The price remains the same, ranging from $499 for a Wi-Fi only model with 16 gigabytes of memory to $829 for a 64GB version with both Wi-Fi and 3G. Apple said the iPad 2's battery life, at an estimated 10 hours, is the same as for the original iPad.
