Startup Weekend Paris Makers 2015 Edition Recap

So we got into Paris on thursday morning from Los Angeles, CA to  mentor at Startup Weekend Paris Makers Edition. I was fresh off of organizing Startup Weekend Conejo Valley the weekend before (check out our Video Recap here).

I headed straight to Be-Coworking once we set our luggage down to check out the space. I was blow away, the space is multi leveled with plenty of rooms to lock startups in for 54 hours.

Shout out to Damien Cavailles their fearless organizer for allowing me to be a part of Startup Weekend Paris.

Friday night the place was packed for pitch night, allot of participants pitched their ideas.

Once the voting began the energy turned on, and ideas were being shared all around.

The facilitators and organizers were great hosts and made us all feel welcomed.
The top voted ideas were the following.

Once teams were formed, people found their sections got straight to work friday night, getting to know each other drawing up their Business Canvas Models, and registering their domain names.

The energy throughout the weekend was amazing, everyone participated and helped each other out.

Saturday morning teams showed up easy ready to work, and start building prototypes. The day was really cool, fun and felt allot like home.

Teams worked well into the early sunday morning. Be Coworking is the perfect spot for all nighters.

One of the highlights were the amount of 3d printers in the house.

I got an opportunity to meet some really cool people this weekend. Paris is going through something really cool right now.
I made it a point to get in the middle of it all and meet with all teams frequently helping with ideas and solutions.

The demos were awesome you could tell allot of work and passion went into each of the demos. and one team Foreplay did their pitch in english! <3 font="">
The Parisian startup scene is on its way to become a global power house and I am excited to have made a contribution to this weekend. Great job!

You can watch the demos below.

The 1st place team was foreplay with a really cool naughty card game I can see taking off in the US.
